What-If’s [poem #412]

June 28, 2019April 24, 2022 Alina H. Hansen Writer & Poet
two people playing chess

Mindless addiction

hopeless attraction, a place

occupied by thoughts, actions

not yet taken, the ‘what-if’s’

as real as what’s already happened.

Destruction (poem #411)

June 27, 2019June 23, 2019 Alina H. Hansen Writer & Poet

Destruction, a pale glass

shards spread far apart, hiding

within every available crevice,

the moment, a shattering

a sound echoing through

space and time and in that moment

all listen to the destruction.

Endless Nights (poem #410)

June 26, 2019June 23, 2019 Alina H. Hansen Writer & Poet

Endless nights,

the morning sun cannot reach me

I drink in the dark night sky

absorbing the glow of stars,

dead suns glittering and other

such implodings, the sun cannot

reach me, I am alive with the

night.

Dreams (poem #409)

June 25, 2019June 23, 2019 Alina H. Hansen Writer & Poet

What are the dreams

that invade your mind?

Hopes and destruction

laced with innermost fears

and desires, what are the

dreams you choose to ignore?

June 24, 2019June 23, 2019 Alina H. Hansen Writer & Poet

Words lift and shake,

meanings signified and altered

perceptions becoming traditions,

our lives calculated measures.
